Certifications and Training:

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification is required. Completion of a caregiver training program, which may include topics like infection control, safety, and communication skills.

Experience: 

Minimum of 2 years previous care giving experience is preferred, especially for roles that involve specific medical or specialized care. Experience working with certain conditions, such as dementia or physical disabilities, may be required for specific positions.

References: 

Providing references from previous employers or clients is part of the application process.

Background Check: 

A thorough background check, including criminal history and reference checks, is typically conducted to ensure the caregiver has a clean record and is trustworthy.

Health Screening: 

A health examination or screening is required to ensure that the caregiver is in good health and capable of performing the required duties.

Driving License: 

If the caregiver is expected to transport the client, a valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required.

Compassion and Empathy:

Soft skills such as compassion, empathy, and effective communication are essential for providing quality care.

Physical Fitness:

Caregivers may need to be physically fit and able to assist with activities of daily living, which could include lifting or assisting with mobility.
